World's biggest party on July 19 on the Ruhr metropolitan area's arterial road
Dortmund, February 18, 2008. The biggest party in the world is set to raise the pulse of the arterial road through the Ruhr metropolitan area: On July 19 under the motto "Highway to Love", the Loveparade takes place on Bundesstrasse 1 (Highway no. 1) right next to the Dortmund Westfalenhallen. For the first time in history this metropolitan highway, one of the busiest roads in Germany, is to be closed for an event. This is a premiere for the Loveparade, too, as this is the first time that the event is taking place in such unusual surroundings. The traditional concluding demonstration will be celebrated on the square in front of the Westfalenhallen.
